Job Description

We’re looking for a Civil Engineer to join a growing engineering and design consultancy, delivering high-quality solutions for power and energy infrastructure projects – including substations, grid connections, and renewable energy facilities – alongside exciting work across sectors such as industrial, defence, and transportation.

What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and specifying civil works for large-scale projects, including drainage, external works, earthworks, and utilities.
  • Producing detailed drawings, specifications, and reports to high technical standards.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
  • Reviewing calculations and subcontractor designs for compliance and quality.
  • Supporting and mentoring early-career engineers while contributing to technical excellence and best practice.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience delivering projects in one or more sectors (power sector experience desirable).
  • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status (e.g. ICE or IStructE).
  • Strong experience in drainage design, earthworks, and external works.
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD (or similar) for modelling, layouts, and drafting.
  • Good knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, CDM regulations, and BIM processes.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eligibility for security clearance (essential for certain projects).
