Qualified Social Worker – Children & Families (Wick)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Qualified Social Worker to join a dedicated Children and Families team in Wick. This is a unique chance to live and work in the picturesque town of Wick, where you can enjoy the stunning coastal scenery and the world-renowned beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
This contract is for a minimum of 3 months and offers a competitive rate ranging from 40 – 45 per hour, with flexible working patterns and the option of working from home.

Your Responsibilities

Child Protection: Carrying out investigations and managing high-risk cases to ensure the safety of children.

Family Placement: Supporting foster care and kinship placements to provide stable environments for young people.

Caseload Management: Managing your own varied caseload within a busy statutory team.

Assessments & Reviews: Conducting comprehensive assessments and regular reviews of care plans.

Report Writing: Producing high-quality reports for Children’s Hearings and court proceedings.
Requirements
-
Degree in Social Work or equivalent.

Member of the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

Member of the PVG scheme.
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a child protection environment.
