The role
Critical Care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital incorporates a purpose-built Intensive Care Unit located adjacent to the mixed speciality High Dependency Unit to create a combined critical care area. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, committed and highly motivated Registered Nurse with critical care experience to join our multidisciplinary team caring for both emergency and elective patients across a variety of medical and surgical specialities.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- This is a permanent post working part time hours ( 33.12)
- These hours will be worked on a rotational day/night pattern
- You will be based at Royal Alexandra Hospital PA2 9PN
- Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities
Successful candidates will work in a busy and challenging environment to ensure a high standard of person centred care is delivered to critically ill patients with one or more organ failure requiring organ support, specialist care and closer nursing observations. You will be part of a senior team delivering care from admission to discharge from critical care, and as patients’ needs differ, you will be required to tailor your approach to a broad range of individuals and circumstances to meet the patients’ needs. You will support the Senior Charge Nurse whilst providing clinical cover and having shift responsibilities for staff leadership and management.
Knowledge, Training, Qualifications and/or Experience Required
- Applications are invited from registered nurses with current registration with NMC
- Significant post registration experience within a critical care environment
