This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a growing and forward-thinking organisation in a key strategic role. The Category Manager will take ownership of defined spend categories, driving value through effective category strategies, supplier management, and stakeholder collaboration.
Key responsibilities include:

Developing and delivering category strategies aligned with business objectives

Leading supplier sourcing, negotiation, and contract management activities

Managing and developing relationships with key strategic suppliers

Analysing spend, market trends, and supply risks to inform commercial decisions

Working closely with internal stakeholders across manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and finance

Driving continuous improvement across cost, quality, service, and sustainability

Supporting manufacturing projects and new product introductions with effective sourcing solutions

Ensuring procurement policies, governance, and best practice are followed
The successful candidate will have:

Proven experience as a Category Manager or Senior Buyer within a manufacturing or industrial environment

Strong commercial and negotiation skills with a track record of delivering value

Experience managing complex spend categories and strategic suppliers

The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels

Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem solving

CIPS qualification or working towards this would be advantageous
