Job Description

Overview

The C2 Bin Lorry Driver position in Edinburgh requires a qualified operator to manage waste collection routes across the city. This full-time temporary role offers a pay rate between £16.30 and £17.61 per hour, with shifts available on a 4-on-4-off pattern (06:00-17:02) or Tuesday to Friday (06:00-16:45), including a 45-minute unpaid break.

Location and hours

Location: EH11 4HD

Hours: 4 days on, 4 days off 06:00-17:02 or Tuesday to Friday 06:00-16:45 with a 45 minute unpaid break.

Rates

Rate of pay: £16.30 – £17.61 per hour. This is a temporary ongoing role with no end date. Immediate starts available.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely operate a C2 bin lorry on designated routes within Edinburgh.
  • Collect and transport waste and recyclables to disposal and recycling facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance of the vehicle.
  • Provide excellent customer service when interacting with the public.

Requirements

  • Valid HGV C2 (Class 2) licence.
  • CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) qualification.
  • Digital Tachograph card.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
  • Excellent driving skills and a clean driving record.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
