The role:
We are delighted to welcome applications for the Business Support Assistant role within Renfrewshire Specialist Children’s Services. In this role, you will provide high quality secretarial and administrative support directly to the CAMHS clinical team while dealing pleasantly and professionally with clients, members of the public, and staff. Renfrewshire CAMHS is a friendly, well established multidisciplinary team with a strong reputation for service development and continuous improvement. As an essential part of the team, you will contribute to maintaining the high standard of service delivered to the children and young people referred to our service. All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHSGGC can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
- This is a fixed term role for 12 months, working part time hours (32.4)
- These hours will be worked Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm (reduced working week to be incorporated)
- You will be based at Aranthrue Centre, 103 Paisley Road, Renfrew PA4 8LH
- Please note the salary is pro rata for part time hours.
Key responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Business Support Team management, you will provide a high quality administrative and secretarial service to the multidisciplinary team. You will deal with telephone and face to face enquiries, provide information where appropriate, and direct or prioritise enquiries as required.
You will receive visitors, including patients and members of the public, in a polite, professional, and helpful manner in accordance with local procedures. Responsibilities will also include booking rooms using electronic or paper based systems and ensuring rooms are appropriately prepared for use.
Using the electronic patient management system, you will arrange and amend patient appointments both face to face and by telephone, as well as organise interpreter services when required.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
- You must be able to demonstrate competence in the use of a range of computer packages, evidenced through experience or a formal qualification such as ECDL.
- You should have knowledge and experience of working in an office environment, including the operation of office equipment and systems.
- You will be conversant with office procedures and systems and able to demonstrate previous experience working in a secretarial or administrative role.
- An ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment is required.
