ChatGPT and OpenAI has taken the world by storm, and Bright Purple are thrilled to be working directly with the founding team at one of Europe’s most exciting generative AI start-ups, poised to make huge waves throughout the industry in 2024 by capitalising on this disruption and transformation. We are looking for software engineers at the mid to senior experience level and the salary will be reflective and commensurate with your expertise.
The Organisation
Based in the heart of Edinburgh, located within some of the smartest, grandest offices in the city, their founding team comprises of Generative AI experts, including an advisor to some of the world’s leading technology companies. Their software will enable organisations at enterprise scale deploy highly-specialised, industry-specific ChatGPT type models with minimal code and processing/computing costs.
As one would expect, this is a challenging, fast-paced, ambitious team on the cusp of major breakthroughs. Think Silicon Valley, but here in Scotland. The technical environment is based on highly-scalable, highly-available, low-latency systems, building for the cloud (GCP), productionising advanced, novel models and algorithms, with beautiful, user-centred UIs.
You as a Software Engineer
In your capacity as a Software Engineer, you would deep-dive into their cloud-based, low-latency systems, grappling with complex concepts and high-performance computing. Your background will likely be in a Software Engineering role but within an organisation of similar scale/complexity, ideally within a Machine Learning environment (but this isn’t essential!) The key is that you are flexible and adaptable, don’t self-define according to a particular stack or framework, and enjoy thinking bigger picture about tough problems.
What you bring to the table
– Fluency in programming languages such as C++, Python, Go, or Java
– Strong understanding of classical engineering techniques ie concurrency, multi-threading, etc.
– Experience building scalable, highly-available and performant systems for the Cloud (ie Google Cloud, Amazon Web Services, Azure, etc.)
– Knowledge of Cloud Architectures ie serverless computing
– Strong STEM degree ie ideally 2.1 or above
