Type: Full Time • Permanent. Location: Glasgow. Working Pattern: Minimum 2 days per week in the office, 3 days remote.

Role Overview

The GBS Billing Manager within the Order to Cash (OTC) team leads a high performing billing team responsible for delivering accurate, timely and compliant billing services across the firm. This leadership role combines hands on billing expertise with people management, stakeholder engagement and process improvement. You will act as a key point of contact for billing matters, providing subject matter expertise across client billing portals and the Elite 3E e Billing Hub, while working closely with the OTC Manager, partners and regional finance teams to support working capital objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop and motivate the billing team, managing workload peaks and performance.
  • Coach and motivate the team through peak workloads, ensuring high service standards and continuous improvement across billing processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in billing, liaising with billing portals (Elite 3E, Elite Enterprise or similar) and client portals.
  • Support partners and fee earners in achieving billing and working capital targets.
  • Engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including team members and partner level.
  • Drive process improvement initiatives and shape billing service delivery and performance metrics.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience in a billing or billing team lead role within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong leadership: ability to lead, develop and motivate teams, manage workload peaks, and deliver performance.
  • Experience supporting partners and fee earners to achieve billing and working capital targets.
  • Hands on experience across multiple e billing platforms and client portals, and strong understanding of Order to Cash processes, billing compliance and client SLAs.
  • Proficient MS Office skills, especially Excel and Word.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a consistently high level of accuracy.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including partner level.
