Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check than is currently the case. If the post is assessed as a regulated role, its appointment will be subject to joining the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme.

Please note: As this post is part time, the salary will be pro rata.

NHS LOTHIAN UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS DIVISION Therapy Services – WGH Band 6 Inpatient Oncology, Haematology and Lymphoedema Physiotherapy 12 months Temporary 14.4 hours

We have an exciting opportunity for a physiotherapist with an enthusiasm for working with patients within Oncology.

This post holder will be responsible for the assessment and treatment of patients on the inpatient oncology wards in the Western General Hospital as well as working towards managing a caseload of out patients, including those with cancer related lymphoedema, living in the Edinburgh and Lothians area.

If no previous postgraduate qualifications in lymphoedema assessment and management, the post holder will be expected to complete a post graduate certificate in lymphoedema practice if this post is extended.

This is a varied and challenging clinical area where candidates need to demonstrate clinical experience of assessing and treating patients with neurological, respiratory and general mobility problems. Experience in delivering acute Oncology physiotherapy care would be of benefit as would experience in lymphoedema management.

This is a developing service and an exciting opportunity on offer for a suitable candidate.
