LOCATION: St James Quarter, Edinburgh EH1 3AD

SHIFT PATTERN: 4 days on 4 days off, 38.5 hours per week

PAY RATE: £13.55 per hour

Role Overview and Purpose

As a Presentation Operative you will be responsible for delivering the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout St James Quarter, both internally and externally. This includes ensuring all areas are fully maintained and safe through planned and reactive management operations, and supporting the internal presentation team as part of a single, cohesive team.

Responsibilities

  • Driving licence is preferred for use when operating the electric tug and car park cleaning machine.
  • Support the Cleaning Presentation Supervision Team and Deputy Presentation Manager in day to day operations, ensuring tasks are completed on time and to high standards.
  • Act as an active team member on site, delivering high quality service and displaying appropriate behaviours that enhance the guest experience.
  • Take pride in cleaning duties, focusing on detail and working as part of a team to achieve high standards.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, being flexible, meeting changing operational needs and suggesting new initiatives aligned with cleaning specifications and BICs Standards.
  • Communicate continuously with supervision and management to discuss improvements to operations, standards and guest experience.
  • Provide support to the business in service related matters and promote the ABM FS brand at all times.
  • Focus on enhancing guest experience and recommend improvements to our presentation teams.
  • Carry out duties in a correct manner that delivers high standards of results.
  • Follow company compliance for COSHH and health and safety matters.
  • Execute cleaning assignments as designated by management, including deep clean tasks.
  • Display teamwork, a positive approach and a can do attitude.
  • Act as a team with colleagues, taking pride in work to achieve high standards.
  • Adhere to ABM/ Site health and safety policies, including accident reporting.
  • Provide daily feedback on duties completed, challenges and areas for improvement.
  • Operate equipment and machinery in accordance with training, perform daily pre use checks, and clean & charge after use.
  • Use cleaning chemicals correctly per COSHH regulations, store materials safely, monitor and order consumables to maintain minimum stock levels and best value for money.
  • Attend work well dressed and presentable, representing the brand with pride.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties required to meet business needs.

Qualifications and Essential Skills

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Well organised with attention to detail.
  • Prior cleaning experience.
  • Self motivated with a proactive outlook.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and take responsibility.
