Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office

We are partnering with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit an Associate / Associate Director to join its growing Building Performance team.

This is an outstanding opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within an established consultancy renowned for delivering innovative, low-carbon design solutions across the UK. You’ll combine technical excellence with strategic leadership, mentoring, business development and client relationship management while working on a diverse portfolio of prestigious projects.

The Opportunity

As an Associate / Associate Director, you’ll play a key role in driving the continued growth of the Building Performance team.

Working alongside multidisciplinary design teams, you’ll lead technical delivery, develop client relationships, mentor consultants and contribute to the strategic direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Building Performance and Sustainability projects across a wide range of sectors.
  • Deliver and review Dynamic Thermal Modelling using IES VE.
  • Provide technical leadership in:
    • Dynamic Simulation Modelling
    • Overheating Assessments (TM52 & TM59)
    • Thermal Comfort Analysis
    • Operational Energy Modelling
    • Low Carbon Building Design
  • Manage, mentor and develop a high-performing consultancy team.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects and design teams.
  • Support business development, fee proposals and winning new work.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest technical standards.
  • Help shape the future growth and success of the Building Performance team.

About You

  • Significant experience within a Building Performance or Sustainability Consultancy.
  • Expert knowledge of IES VE and Dynamic Thermal Modelling.
  • Previous consultancy management or leadership experience.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development skills.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Outstanding communication and mentoring skills.
  • A genuine passion for sustainable design and developing future talent.
