Job Description
Our client, a notable entity within the Transmission & Distribution sector, is currently seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Stirling. This permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity to assist Quantity Surveyors and Senior Quantity Surveyors in various commercial capacities, focusing on maximising profit and controlling costs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and produce transparent weekly and monthly cost value reconciliation processes to ensure accurate and timely information
- Capture and allocate all relevant costs and liabilities
- Maintain long-term relationships with internal and external teams for effective transfer of information, ensuring relationships meet business needs
- Assist in managing opportunities and risks to the business, ensuring deviations from working practice are identified and highlighted
- Assist the Quantity Surveyor in the development of commercial tenders, offers and contracts, and formal engagement with other companies
- Identify and escalate inappropriate costs and continuously monitor transfers between business streams and contract cost centres where necessary
- Identify commercial risks and escalate them to the Quantity Surveyor for early warning notices where appropriate
- Record and track insurance claims
- Ensure contract data and records are appropriately maintained and kept up to date
- Capture and report direct labour payments; assist in drafting and awarding sub-contracts and assessing tenders
- Share learning and commercial best practice to encourage continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental policies, procedures and standards
- Follow the Clancy Driving Standards Policy

- Relevant degree in Construction or Commercial Management
