Responsibilities

Northern State University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month tenure-track faculty position in Human Performance/Exercise Science in the Department of Sports Sciences. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate education through excellence in teaching, applied laboratory instruction, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and service. Responsibilities include teaching face-to-face and online undergraduate and graduate courses in a learner-centered environment, supervising undergraduate/graduate research, mentoring graduate students, scholarly activity, and service to the university and community. The successful candidate will teach a wide variety of undergraduate and graduate courses within the Human Performance and Sports Sciences programs and demonstrate experience employing successful pedagogical strategies in the collegiate classroom setting. The successful candidate will serve as the Human Performance & Biomechanics Laboratory Director. This role includes the oversight of laboratory operations, supervision of graduate assistants, collaboration with athletics and community partners, and support of accreditation and program development initiatives.

Qualifications

Applicants with an earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Kinesiology, or a related field. ABDs who will complete their degree before the date of appointment will be considered
