Job Description

We are now recruiting for an assistant paralegal to join our specialist motor, asset finance and unsecured recoveries team. The role will be basedin our Glasgow or Bristol office. As an Assistant Paralegal you will report into a team manager and work as part of a team of Assistant Paralegals and Paralegals.

Your Role

  • Opening files, conflict checking, organising/reviewing documents and ongoing file management to include electronic filing, printing, scanning, closing.
  • Working with and maintaining excel spreadsheets, databases, portals and systems used within the team.
  • Ordering and reviewing documents from the Land Registry.
  • Financial aspects to include arranging for third parties to be paid, billing matters and maintaining good financial hygiene across matters and time management.
  • Pre-litigation to include issuing letter before claims, telephone calls, e-mails, instructing trace reports and taking payments from customers.
  • Engaging with customers, clients and third parties via telephone, email and portals.
  • Working on a case management system ensuring accuracy of data, working with deadlines, key dates and working within SLA
  • Working on a call system engaging with customers (incoming and outgoing) working within the FCA consumer duty framework.
  • Supporting team manager on any assigned tasks.
  • You will be trained on litigation tasks within the team to include drafting claims for Judgment and Enforcing Judgments.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Ability to work in a strict regulatory environment
  • Good communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Accuracy, good organisational skills and flexibility.
  • Ability to work well as part of a busy team.
  • Good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook is required and working on a case management system and would be beneficial however training will be provided
  • Experience within motor and asset finance in England and Wales would be advantageous
  • Experience within unsecured recoveries in England and Wales would be advantageous
  • Previous Paralegal/debt recovery/office experience is desirable, but not essential
  • A background in Law or a Law degree is not an essential requirement for this role
  • This would be a perfect role as an entry level position for a candidate that wishes to pursue a Paralegal career within a Law Firm
