Assistant Ecologist £25,000 – £30,000 Inverness

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Ecologist to join a supportive team and gain exposure to a varied portfolio of projects across the Highlands. The Assistant Ecologist will contribute to ecological surveys, fieldwork, reporting and ecological mitigation, with opportunities to develop experience across a broad range of protected species and habitats.

The Assistant Ecologist role will involve

  • Undertaking habitat and protected species surveys
  • Supporting ecological impact assessments and reporting
  • Assisting with ecological mitigation and monitoring
  • Contributing to ECoW and construction-related ecological work
  • Travelling across the Highlands and Islands, with occasional overnight stays

To be considered:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent experience in ecology/environmental science
  • Some practical ecology survey experience
  • Good understanding of Scottish ecology and protected species
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Living in or within a commutable distance of Inverness
