Job Details

Position: Assistant Cook at St Leonards RC Primary School, Dunfermline.

Working Pattern: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday on a 38-week contract.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Salary: £25,604.23 pro rate (£13.64 per hour plus extra for shift work including weekends). Pay is annualised with equal instalments every 4 week pay period.

Location: St Leonards RC Primary School, Dunfermline.

Closing Date: Sunday 19 July 2026.

Proposed Interview Date: Week commencing Monday 27 July 2026.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare food and beverages and organise the service of food during school time.
  • Transport and serve meals; perform general kitchen and dining room duties such as washing up, setting up and clearing equipment and tables.
  • Clean the kitchen, its surroundings and equipment.
  • Complete required paperwork, including electronic returns.
  • Ensure provision of meals throughout the school day during term time (covering Breakfast, Morning Break and Lunch).

Qualifications and Experience

  • Catering experience or a relevant qualification (e.g. SVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).
  • Must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
