Community Use works hard to ensure most of the halls, community centres and schools in Fife are available for learning, leisure, life and cultural events. The team delivers a programme of inclusive pursuits including physical activity and sport, performing arts, arts & crafts, cookery, modern languages and vocational training.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Cluster Supervisor with day to day operations within a portfolio of Community Use facilities across North East Fife.
  • Help manage and supervise a team of caretakers/cleaners to maintain buildings that are clean, operational and compliant with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Order supplies, conduct stock control and ensure safe storage of materials.
  • Transport equipment, furniture and supplies between facilities using service vehicles.
  • Perform vehicle checks, report defects, arrange repairs and complete associated paperwork.
  • Engage with customers and user groups to ensure a positive service experience.
  • Contribute to the achievement of key priorities and milestones set out in the Service Improvement Plan, Community Use Plan and other strategy documents.
  • Work Monday to Friday 09:00 – 13:00, with potential evenings or weekends and enhanced payment for work after 8pm and/or weekend work.
  • Act as a contact for emergencies at Community Use facilities and travel within the area as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Good understanding of Health & Safety regulation and customer service principles.
  • Knowledge of fire safety regulations, risk assessments and building compliance requirements is desirable.
  • Driving licence (CDR).
  • Prior management experience or qualifications is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with IT applications such as SharePoint, Outlook, Word, Excel and Forms.
  • May be required to obtain a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership or Disclosure Check.
