Assistant Travel Agency Manager Edinburgh (outskirts) Salary – £28,000 – £30,000 DOE + bonus and benefits Mon-Fri (with 1 in 5 Saturdays 9am-12pm and time off in lieu)

We’re looking for a motivated, commercially minded Assistant Manager to join a successful independent travel agency. This is a hands-on role where you’ll support the day-to-day running of the branch, lead from the front with sales and help the team deliver an exceptional service to every customer.

The Role as an Assistant Manager:

  • Assisting the Manager with the smooth day-to-day running of the agency
  • Helping to deliver and achieve KPIs and sales targets
  • Being proactive in driving sales performance across the team
  • Leading by example, selling a wide range of holidays and travel products
  • Motivating and supporting team members to maximise every sales opportunity
  • Overseeing and assisting with the management of group sales and associated policies
  • Supporting the training, coaching and ongoing development of team members
  • Handling customer queries and escalations professionally
  • Supporting rotas, workloads and general branch administration
  • Ensuring company procedures and industry regulations are followed
  • Proofing marketing projects and promotional material, ensuring accuracy and excellent attention to detail
  • Supporting the Manager with new initiatives, promotions and opportunities to grow the business
  • Stepping up to oversee the agency in the Manager’s absence

As an Assistant Manager, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous travel sales experience, ideally within a retail or independent travel agency environment
  • Is a confident salesperson who enjoys leading from the front
  • Has supervisory, senior consultant or management experience – or is ready to take that next step
  • Is commercially aware and comfortable working towards KPIs and targets
  • Can motivate, coach and support others
  • Has excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Is organised, proactive and able to juggle different priorities
  • Has strong attention to detail, particularly when checking documentation and marketing material
  • Enjoys being part of a close-knit, successful team
