The Role

As Area Head Steward, your role will include:

  • Three Sisters being the default venue.
  • Managing and overseeing the stewarding requirements for our Edinburgh venues, including, but not limited to, Biddy Mulligans, Maggie Dicksons, Cabaret Voltaire, Golf Tavern, Inn on the Mile & Ghillie Dhu. This role includes managing rotas, recruitment, holiday periods, sickness and have a confidence in dealing with general HR / staffing issues.
  • Be able to work till close of venues, including late-night.
  • Liaising with Management & Lead Stewards to ensure appropriate resources are in place for each of the venues and also for events, ie: Royal Highland Show, Hogmanay, St.Patrick’s Day, Superbowl, Fringe/Festival, Murrayfield Stadium events etc
  • An expectation to work at other venues when required, especially when there staffing issues or challenging events.
  • To ensure that movement of staff occurs between venues, when required, to suit the needs of the business.
  • Ensuring that the highest standards are met by the team of Door Supervisors under your command. This includes conduct and appearance.
  • Have an oversight of all incidents, ensuring that they are dealt with appropriately, to the satisfaction of the authorities & the Scotsman Group.
  • Liaise with the Licensing Manager on a regular basis to ensure that standards are being met and to report any concerns when required.
  • To be able to carry out disciplinary hearings if required.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, but not essential.
  • Experience of managing a team of door stewards is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills with the ability to confidently deal with a vast range of challenging situations and be able to promote the venues in a positive light.
  • Availability to work shifts, including late nights and weekends as per business needs.
  • Team Leader who sets high standards.
