The Role

To provide a comprehensive administrative service within the department to Orthotists, Consultants, Associate Specialists, Registrars, Junior Doctors, Nurse Specialists and Physiotherapists.

In this key role, you will:

  • Provide a high quality administrative service to the Head of Profession for Orthotics and his team, Nurse Specialist teams, Physiotherapists and Orthotics Contractors to ensure efficiency in patient care.
  • Respond to telephone and face to face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives & carers, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
  • Be responsible for managing out patient waiting lists, ensuring that the patient management system information is accurate and up to date to achieve waiting time targets.
  • Arrange appointments for the appropriate Orthotic clinic and arrange transport to facilitate the patient journey.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Understanding of a range of work procedures, all of which are non routine, requiring an intermediate level of theoretical knowledge.
  • Expertise knowledge gained through experience of Government Prescription Charges and Exemption Categories.
  • Expertise knowledge gained through experience of the range of administration procedures.
  • Knowledge of software programmes.
