Job Description

I am seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for my client in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire.
This is a fantastic contract opportunity for a results-driven engineer to contribute to critical manufacturing initiatives in a dynamic industrial environment.

The business builds electronic sensors and electromechanical/ electronic assemblies for the aerospace industry, as well as other industries.

Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Motherwell, Lanarkshire
Contract: 6 months initially
Pay rate: 25 – 35 per hour PAYE only (DOE), plus holiday pay in addition

Candidates must already hold the right to live and work in the UK at the time of application.

Main responsibilities:

  • Plan, develop, and design efficient manufacturing processes within an industrial plant.
  • Analyse and optimise equipment layout, workflow, workforce, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management to improve overall production efficiency.
  • Develop and implement assembly methods and work instructions.
  • Determine the necessary parts, tools, and equipment to achieve manufacturing goals aligned with product specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing engineering role, preferably within an industrial setting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in process optimisation, lean manufacturing, and production planning.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Additional information:

  • This contract is for 6 months initially. There is possibility of extension.
  • Vetting for the successful candidate will include referencing and a drug screening.
