Job Title: Advanced Clinical Fellow in Psychiatry Neuro Diversity Development (NDD)

Department: General Adult Psychiatry

Base: NHS Lothian (St John’s Hospital, West Lothian)

This post is based at St John’s Hospital and is an integral part of the general adult psychiatry service for Edinburgh and the Lothians, with services delivered by the four Lothianwide Health and Social Care Partnerships and Royal Edinburgh and Associated Services (REAS).

Post Summary:

This advert is for 2-year fixed term working in mental health in West Lothian (10 Sessions). The Advanced Clinical Fellow role offers a unique combination of opportunities in clinical experience and professional development. The post covers Neuro Diversity Development (NDD) Clinical Work. The role would be ideal for candidates who are looking to spend a 2 years between core training and speciality training to develop their knowledge and skills. The post holder will join a very well-established department with a high degree of support from colleagues including consultants, speciality doctors, higher trainees and resident doctors.

NHS Lothian is the largest educational partner to the University of Edinburgh medical school and the South-East Scotland regional office of the Scotland Deanery; we host 800 clinical students and employ 1500 doctors in training programmes. NHS Lothian’s psychiatric services are based in Edinburgh, Midlothian, East Lothian and West Lothian. Our main site is the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, which provides psychiatric and mental health services, including treatment for learning disabilities and dementia, and a wide range of specialist services.

The post does not have educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will not be recognised for training.
