About the role
As a Transport Administrator, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of a busy transport department. Supporting the Transport Supervisor and Site Manager, you will ensure that all administrative and compliance-related tasks are completed efficiently, accurately, and in a timely manner.
Key responsibilities
Maintain and update transport files and compliance records
Schedule and print daily routes for drivers
Manage driver rota and holiday planner
Run weekly and monthly reports related to KPIs and compliance
Carry out daily driver debriefs and escalate issues as required
Assist with route planning and respond to customer delivery/collection queries
Raise purchase orders and monitor monthly expenditure
Compile and submit month-end data and KPI reports
Conduct monthly vehicle walk-round checks with drivers
Reconcile Hazardous Waste Consignment Notes (HWCNs) with plant and transport teams
Report and manage near misses, incidents, or non-conformance’s within the transport function
Support general administration across the plant as needed
What we’re looking for
Essential skills and experience:
Strong administrative background, ideally within a transport or logistics environment
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Highly organised, methodical, and able to prioritise tasks effectively
Confident working independently and as part of a team
Experience interacting with drivers, customers, and operational staff
Desirable:
Experience using SAP or similar business systems
Familiarity with hazardous waste documentation and regulations (e.g. HWCNs)
CPC qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
NVQ Level 3 in IT or Business Administration
