At Pebbles Academy Dunfermline, we are looking for an Adapt Learning Practitioner (ALP) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to support children and young people who have experienced barriers to education, helping them re-engage with learning, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes.
Working alongside teachers, therapists and residential colleagues, you will play a key role in delivering personalised learning experiences that enable every young person to thrive.
Your Role
As an Adapt Learning Practitioner, you will build positive relationships with pupils and provide practical, emotional and educational support both within the school and, where appropriate, in our residential homes or through online learning.
You will work closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging learning experiences tailored to each learner’s strengths, interests, and aspirations. Every day is different, requiring creativity, flexibility and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for young people.
Key Responsibilities

- Work with pupils individually and in small groups to build confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
- Deliver learning both within the school, in residential homes and through remote learning where appropriate.
- Support the implementation of therapeutic and trauma-informed approaches to learning.
- Monitor, record and celebrate pupil progress using our digital learning platforms.
- Contribute to planning, preparing and adapting learning resources to meet individual needs.
- Deliver therapeutic and wellbeing activities that support pupils’ emotional regulation and personal development.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure young people receive consistent support.
- Promote high expectations while maintaining a nurturing, relationship-based approach.
