Job Description

Our client is currently looking for an Accountant for a contract position, located in Aberdeen.

ROLE

The Accountant will be responsible for assisting the Senior Finance Manager manage financial transactions and obligations, across multiple divisions, with varied operations and revenue streams

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assistance with monthly and year end reporting
  • Balance sheet analysis (Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations to be reviewed)
  • Assist with the preparation of the Group Annual Budget, along with the subsequent quarterly reforecasts.
  • Assistance with Financial analytics and review
  • Assisting the Group Tax team with any queries regarding quarterly VAT returns
  • Preparation of Monthly Group Reporting packs / KPI reporting
  • Assisting with the data collection and auditor queries as part of the annual audit.
  • Preparation of the management accounts of subsidiary for review
  • Treasury & Cash Management inc Cash forecasting / Cashflow preparation for review
  • Responsible for intercompany reconciliations and agreeing balances at month end with sister companies
  • Working closely with the Senior Finance Manager and developing relationships with key operational stakeholders across business units to provide key financial support to operations.
  • Review of Weekly Payrolls and checking journals from Payroll Dept
  • Influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders to enable them to make informed financial decisions
  • Adherence to all company policies, financial processes and controls
  • Other ad hoc / administrative duties as required

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Newly Qualified/Part-Qualified Accountant (ICAS/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field / Or Qualified by experience in a similar role
  • Excellent Microsoft skills across all Office Platforms (Excel/Word/PowerPoint etc) Experience with Microsoft Power BI is preferable but not essential
