We are seeking a Pharmacy Support Worker – Higher Level to join the Oncology Homecare team and ECC Pharmacy at the Western General Hospital. This is a Band 3, 1.0 WTE (36 hours), permanent role with salary range £29,103 – £31,409 (including weekend and public holiday commitment).
Responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate documentation and homecare medication records to ensure the safe and efficient supply of medicines from homecare providers.
- Communicating effectively with the homecare team and homecare providers to resolve patient queries.
- Undertaking telephone calls to patients explaining the homecare delivery service.
- Labelling and dispensing medicines, assembling trays for aseptic preparation, and maintaining stock.

About the Role
As a Pharmacy Support Worker (Higher Level) based in the oncology homecare team and ECC Pharmacy at the Western General Hospital, you will play an integral part in the delivery of homecare medicines.
- Maintain accurate documentation and homecare medication records.
- Communicate with homecare team members and providers to resolve patient queries.
- Explain the homecare delivery service to patients via telephone.
- Label and dispense medicines, assemble trays for aseptic preparation, and manage stock.
About You – Essential Qualifications
- National 4 (or equivalent) English, Mathematics and a Science (Biology or Chemistry).
- Educated to (or within 12 months of) completion of SQA Pharmacy Services Group Award (GA) SCQF Level 6 and associated education requirements for pharmacy areas.
- Previous healthcare or pharmacy experience is beneficial but not essential; training will be provided.
- Passion for learning and development with a professional attitude and commitment to patient care.
