Job purpose

As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will ensure the upkeep of the Acute Medical Unit environment and work collaboratively with the team members to deliver safe patient centred care.

To monitor and order stock, ensure stock rotation, maintenance of the Acute Medical Unit store rooms and liaise with local stores staff.

Ensuring adequate levels of equipment and their maintenance.

To assist with stock control and provide audit reports on stock as requested.

To liaise with Management, procurement and finance teams with required audit information and highlight to clinical teams out of stock items and liaise about replacement stock.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage stock levels for the Acute Medical Unit, including stock rotation and maintenance of store rooms.
• Assist with stock control and provide audit reports on stock as requested.
• Liaise with management, procurement and finance to provide required audit information and communicate out-of-stock items and replacement stock needs to clinical teams.

Requirements and information

• This post requires PVG Scheme membership/record. If not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application to Disclosure Scotland and satisfactory clearance is required before starting in post.
• From 1 April 2025, there may be a different level of criminal records check required. If the post is assessed as a “regulated role”, appointment is subject to joining the PVG Scheme.
