B6 Specialist Physiotherapist 22 hours per week Permanent, Part-Time Based in Midlothian Community Hospital
Duties & responsibilities
As an independent practitioner you will provide a full and comprehensive specialist service of assessment, diagnosis, treatment/appropriate management, onward referral and discharge to a complex range of patients referred to the service. You will also supervise physiotherapists, assistant practitioners, clinical support workers and physiotherapy students; work as a key member of the MDT and wider AHP team to support the patient throughout their rehabilitation journey; develop and deliver training programmes for a wide range of professionals and carers to educate carers and significant others in the understanding of both the therapy process and any intervention relating to the management of patients medical and social needs.

Employment eligibility & equality
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post. To work in the United Kingdom, a candidate must demonstrate the relevant permission to work in the country, which is granted by the UK Visa and Immigration Service. The salary will be pro rated for part time hours.

As from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week. Part time hours will be reduced pro rata, but there will be a corresponding increase in the hourly rate so that pay will not be affected.
