Join our dedicated Pharmacy & Medicines team and play a key role in delivering high-quality care to Haematology and Immunology Services within the Royal Infirmary Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic pharmacist to contribute to patient centred care, prescribing decisions, and multidisciplinary collaboration in a leading teaching hospital.

About the Role

The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh is a large teaching hospital known for its excellence across various specialist services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy service.
  • Working as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, where pharmacists have an established role in non-medical prescribing. To review patients who are either managed directly under (non-malignant) haematology or supporting other clinical teams where haematology input is needed
  • Providing support to out-patient services Haemophilia, Thrombosis, and Immunology Centre (HTIC)
  • Supporting medicines governance processes, such as updating guidelines, protocols, ensuring appropriate prescribing of immunoglobulins, completion of formulary applications where necessary.
  • Supporting and expanding the haematology and immunology homecare service.

About You

We are looking for a highly motivated pharmacist with a passion for delivering exceptional clinical care.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Completed training or equivalent competence mapped to the RPS Post-Registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience in proactively influencing prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
  • A strong patient-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective decision-making in an acute medical setting.
