Operations Manager Fairfield House Hotel, Ayr

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of Fairfield House Hotel. You’ll lead our operational teams, maintain consistently high standards and help deliver efficient service and memorable guest experiences.

What you’ll be doing

  • Overseeing daily hotel operations and ensuring smooth, efficient service across all departments.
  • Leading, supporting and developing departmental managers and the wider hotel team.
  • Taking ownership of operational performance, including service standards, financial targets and guest satisfaction.
  • Managing staffing levels, rotas, labour costs and other operational expenditure in line with budgets and business forecasts.
  • Reviewing guest feedback, including online reviews, and implementing appropriate improvements.
  • Supporting the successful delivery of accommodation, restaurant, bar, corporate event and private function operations.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, legal compliance, cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel.
  • Working closely with senior management to increase revenue, control costs and improve profitability.
  • Acting as a visible, hands-on leader and resolving operational or guest-service issues effectively.
