LOCATION(S): Edinburgh, Leeds, Bristol and Halifax

HOURS: Full-time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

We’re looking for a passionate and curious People Data Consultant to join the People & Data Interfaces Squad within our People Experience & Platform team. You would sit at the intersection of People, Data and Technology, giving you the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders across HR Centres of Excellence, People Partners, senior business leaders and data teams to influence strategic workforce decisions across the bank.

As a trusted partner and advocate for data-driven decision-making, you’ll help colleagues unlock the value of People data by translating complex insights into compelling stories, actionable recommendations and innovative solutions. The work you deliver will have tangible impact, helping shape workforce strategies, improve colleague experiences, support organisational change and drive better business outcomes.

You’ll join a collaborative team of 13 specialists, partnering closely with HR and business stakeholders to build, improve and promote People data products that support decision-making across the bank. Power BI will be a core part of your role, alongside GCP, BigQuery, Power Apps, Power Automate and other technologies that help simplify processes, improve data accessibility and deliver meaningful insights.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Champion the value of data-driven decision-making across the bank by promoting People data products and fostering a culture of curiosity and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Partner with HR, Organisational Change teams, business leaders and technical colleagues to understand requirements, identify opportunities and ensure data products meet stakeholder needs.
  • Extract, analyse and translate complex People data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations through compelling data storytelling, presentations and reporting.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement by simplifying processes, reducing manual effort and supporting the modernisation of legacy data solutions.
  • Lead data literacy and upskilling initiatives, helping colleagues build confidence in using data and self-service reporting tools.
  • Advocate for strong data governance practices, ensuring the responsible and compliant use of People data.
  • Work within agile delivery teams to support the development, enhancement and adoption of People data products and solutions.

What you’ll need:

  • Data Literacy: Strong understanding of data concepts / products (predominantly PowerBI and SQL) and the ability to translate technical insights to non-technical stakeholders.
