Job Description

Pertemps Glasgow Contracts seeks a Community Works Operative 3 04/26 for its public sector client, based in Thurso. This full-time, temporary position starts in early April and pays £14.12 per hour. The working pattern is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7.30am to 4.00pm, Wednesday until 2.00pm, and Friday until 3.00pm.

Duties involve loading refuse and recycling lorries, handling bulky items manually, and delivering or uplifting containers. This role demands heavy labouring outdoors in all weather conditions.

Applicants must supply their own safety boots; remaining PPE is furnished.

Our public sector client located in Wick is looking for Community Works Operatives/Refuse Loaders on a temporary basis starting in early April. Experience is desirable however full training will be given. Please be aware this role involves heavy duty labouring, and you will be required to work outdoors in all weathers. You will require your own safety boots for this position; however, all other necessary PPE will be provided by the client.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of a team
  • Loading behind refuse/recycling lorry
  • Manual lifting of bulky items etc.
  • Deliver/uplift recycling/refuse containers
  • Delivery of advisory leaflets
  • Clear fly tipping etc.
  • Uplift of dead animals/birds/mammals etc.
  • Any other work as directed by supervisor/foreman
