Are you an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator looking to join a leading infrastructure contractor delivering major rail and civil engineering projects across Scotland?
We’re recruiting for an Estimator to join a growing pre-construction team, pricing a diverse range of infrastructure projects including rail, highways, bridges, stations, utilities and environmental works.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an established contractor with a strong pipeline of secured work and long-term frameworks.
The Role
Reporting into the Pre-Construction team, you’ll be responsible for producing accurate, competitive estimates from first principles while working closely with operational, commercial and supply chain teams.
You’ll play a key role in securing new business by preparing high-quality tenders for projects across Scotland.
Responsibilities

Prepare competitive estimates from first principles.

Manage tenders from receipt through to submission.

Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.

Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.

Price labour, plant, materials and temporary works.

Assess project risks and opportunities.

Prepare tender reports and supporting documentation.

Attend tender review meetings with senior management.

Liaise with commercial, operational and design teams throughout the bid process.
About You
You’ll ideally have:

Previous experience as an Estimator within Civil Engineering.

Experience pricing infrastructure projects including rail, highways, bridges, utilities or general civils.

Strong First Principles estimating experience.

Excellent commercial awareness.

Experience using estimating software together with Excel.

Strong communication and organisational skills.
