Upholsterer

A leading name in furniture restoration is expanding across the UK, Scotland and Ireland, and is looking to strengthen its team with skilled tradespeople who take real pride in their work.

This role suits an experienced Upholsterer, Furniture Technician, Furniture Repair Technician or Furniture Restorer with a solid background in modern domestic furniture production or restoration, who is ready to earn well, keep developing their skills and enjoy genuine independence in a field-based role.

What’s on offer:

Basic salary from £33,710, with realistic total average earnings of £37,500 to £41,370 or more

Optional weekend overtime is paid at £220 per day

Performance-related bonus of up to £200 per month (Company average is currently £180.00 per month, so is very achievable)

Weekend work available at £220 per day (1 in 3 Saturdays required), with further weekend shifts available at an enhanced overtime rate of £220.00 per day at your leisure

Company vehicle and free fuel card provided

Tools, materials and restoration kits supplied, including leather and wood

23 days holiday plus bank holidays, rising by 1 day per year after 2 years’ service up to a maximum of 28 days

What you’ll be doing:

Visit customers in their own homes to inspect furniture and upholstery, diagnosing the repair or restoration work needed

Carry out repairs to upholstered furniture to a high standard, using the tools, materials and restoration kits provided

Produce clear, accurate written reports for both the business and the customer following each visit

Advise customers on ongoing product care and maintenance

Represent the business professionally and deliver a consistently excellent standard of customer service

What we’re looking for:

Significant hands-on experience in domestic upholstery, furniture repair, or furniture production and restoration techniques

Strong working knowledge of modern furniture materials and repair methods

Confident written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear customer-facing reports

Well organised, proactive and methodical approach to your work

Able to remain calm and effective under pressure and to tight deadlines

Comfortable working independently, using your own initiative, as well as part of a wider team
