Northern State University is seeking an energetic, relationship-focused Admissions Representative to join our Admissions team. If you enjoy working with students, traveling, presenting, and helping others achieve their educational goals, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of prospective students and their families.
As an Admissions Representative, you will serve as one of the university’s primary ambassadors, guiding prospective students through the college search and enrollment process while promoting the outstanding academic opportunities and student experience available at Northern.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruit prospective students through high school visits, college fairs, campus visits, community events, and other recruitment activities.
- Build strong relationships with prospective students, parents, school counselors, and community partners.
- Counsel students on academic programs, admission requirements, financial aid resources, and the enrollment process.
- Coordinate ongoing communication with prospective students throughout the recruitment cycle.
- Prepare and distribute admissions decisions and acceptance communications.
- Collaborate with academic departments and campus partners to support recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
- Assist with campus visit programs and special recruitment events.
- Provide support for the University’s High School Dual Credit Program and campus visit operations as needed.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Northern’s academic programs, university services, and enrollment strategies.
- Represent Northern State University professionally both on and off campus while fostering a welcoming and inclusive experience for all visitors.
Qualifications
Required
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships with diverse audiences.
- Ability to travel extensively during recruitment seasons, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Experience working with students, customer service, admissions, recruiting, higher education, or sales.
- Experience presenting to groups or public speaking.
- Familiarity with student information systems or CRM software.
