Position Overview

Job Title: Lead UX Designer – 12 Month FTC
Location: Edinburgh
Salary: £78,098 – £91,880 per annum
Hours: Full Time
Working Pattern: Hybrid – at least two days per week or 40% of time at office

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance to partners, development teams and other Interaction Designers while leading a design team.
  • Take full ownership of output, providing rationale for design decisions and confidently presenting work to internal customers.
  • Shape and implement experience strategy for the product area.
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer needs, problems and expectations.
  • Consider business and engineering priorities to understand goals and challenges.
  • Collaborate with service designers to influence and develop the roadmap and overall product strategy.
  • Engage with leadership to understand objectives and opportunities aligned to good customer outcomes.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of designers to support decision making, delivery and team culture.
  • Establish a growth culture and build capabilities through formal development and mentoring of team members.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years demonstrable experience in User Experience Design or Interaction Design.
  • Experience leading teams, inspiring and rallying teams and partners around ambitious goals.
  • Strong people negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional communication abilities, able to share ideas and successes in compelling, engaging ways.
  • A strong strategic vision that aligns well with overall business strategy.
