£14.50 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a General Operative to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside a team of ten other operatives. You will be responsible for carrying out high-quality general repairs, planned works, and refurbishments to housing properties, while delivering best-in-class customer service and meeting all safety, quality, and cost control standards.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of repairs and refurbishment tasks to a high standard.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to tenants and residents.
  • Process all tasks electronically using a handheld device (PDA).
  • Maintain all company-supplied assets in good condition in line with company policies. Report any damages to your supervisor or Manager.
  • Manage materials effectively by using existing stock or collecting required items, following the company’s purchasing and van stock control procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience working in social housing and council contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Legal and Eligibility

All roles require a DBS/Security check before commencement of employment. Candidates must be entitled to work in the UK – Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship. To drive a Mears vehicle, applicants must be aged over 21, have held a driving licence for over 3 months, and have less than 9 points.
