Role Overview

Configuration Engineer – Radar and Advanced Targeting (RATs) Design Integrity function, Edinburgh. Salary £38,000 to £42,000. Hybrid work model based at our Edinburgh site.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers across disciplines to provide configuration management support and advise on best practice.
  • Document Control: Review and verify documentation suitability; manage approval process for new documents and updates; record, distribute and control documentation from internal and external parties.
  • Hardware Management: Process Problem Reports and Change Requests from initiation to final disposition; oversee trial modifications supporting Problem Report investigations; capture trial results.
  • Collate Change Impact assessments from Technical Review Boards (TRB) and support Change Initiators and TRB in determining fast track criteria.
  • Prepare agenda, call and chair Configuration Review Boards (CRB); arrange Point of Embodiment (POE) changes for implementation; decide Change Classification based on criteria.
  • Plan and coordinate implementation of changes into both design and physical products.

Qualifications

  • Experience in configuration engineering.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Good technical knowledge, literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and experience with compliance procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and a positive attitude; essential skill set.

Security Clearance

This role requires pre employment screening under the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personnel Security Controls – National Security Vetting (NSV) – may apply, including eligibility for the Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV). For guidance:
