Overview

Transmission Team Leader Neos Networks offers alternative working arrangements that give employees some flexibility, including office, home and hybrid working.

Base location: Glasgow Hybrid working

Working Pattern: Full time 37 hours per week

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading, coaching and developing a team of network design professionals.
  • Conducting performance reviews, regular 1:1s and supporting personal development plans.
  • Managing resource planning and forecasting to ensure delivery against business demand.
  • Overseeing network risk management and working closely with Operations teams to mitigate risks.
  • Driving technical input into RFIs, ITTs, business cases and infrastructure investment decisions.
  • Supporting innovation initiatives, new technologies and continuous improvement projects.
  • Making informed technical and operational decisions to support business objectives.
  • Ensuring high-quality network designs are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed standards.
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, customers and external vendors.
  • Championing best practice, quality standards and operational excellence across the design function.

What We’re Looking For

  • Essential Experience: Proven experience in transmission network design, technical leadership or management roles. Strong understanding of transmission technologies including SDH, PDH, Microwave, Radio, IP/Layer 3 Networks. Experience working with vendor platforms such as Cisco, Nokia and Connection Master. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing technical teams. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Degree in Telecommunications, Management, IT or a related discipline. Professional experience within telecoms, utilities or network infrastructure environments.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of fibre network specifications and design standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Visio. Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, business-focused recommendations.
