Job Description

Title: Equipment Engineer

Location: Livingston, West Lothian, United Kingdom

Type: Permanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)

Security Clearance: Baseline (BPSS). Must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.

Main Duties

  • Repair, maintenance and calibration/verification of equipment within the manufacturing areas.
  • Experience of environmental test chambers.
  • Active involvement in cell layout design, installation and compliance.
  • Lead equipment engineering problem solving with a proactive and continuous improvement approach to maximise availability, predictability and performance of manufacturing systems.
  • Analysis and improvement of manufacturing processes and operating efficiencies.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to other engineers and technicians.
  • Assist in department training and development plans; provide cross training for engineers and technicians.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and accurately document work to provide traceability and history of work.
  • Participate in planning, installation, commissioning and qualification of new equipment.
  • Conform and supervise conformance to all company and statutory safety regulations and practices.
  • Be flexible with respect to shift rotation and overtime to support manufacturing needs.
  • Must be production oriented and comfortable with changing circumstances and able to cope with a demanding workload.
  • Support 24 7 call out rota.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • HND in a related engineering discipline, with at least five years experience in equipment engineering.

  • Effective communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge of relevant equipment and processes.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise work using a Maintenance Management System.
  • Flexibility to work shifts if required.
  • Team player, able to work unsupervised or as a team member.
  • Customer focused with a “can do” attitude.
