Nurse Practitioner
Band 6 – 33.75 Hours per week – Permanent
Hospital at Night, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
We are looking for a motivated colleague to join our well established Hospital at Night Team within the Division of Medicine and Unscheduled Care at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Training will be provided to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Clinical Practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Work predominantly on night shifts (three nights per week), with some day shifts required for meetings or medical inductions.
- Provide safe, patient centred care during overnight hours, including managing deteriorating patients, responding to clinical emergencies, and clerking unscheduled patients.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, supporting the team as a whole and contributing to a cohesive “one group” approach.
- Support the development of advanced practice skills, maintain and progress knowledge and competence, and receive clinical supervision time.
- Take managerial responsibility for the Senior Healthcare Support Worker team as an opportunity for experience.
- Maintain a flexible schedule across all seven nights of the rota, enabling a healthy work life balance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Registered nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Relevant acute post registration experience.
- Motivated to develop advanced clinical practice skills and pursue a Postgraduate Certificate.
- Ability to work flexible night shifts and occasional days.
- Willingness to engage in team based, patient centred care and supportive supervision.
Relocation allowance of up to £8,000 may be available to successful candidates.
