Department Overview

We are looking for talented, hardworking Computing Science graduates to join our Glasgow office and help develop our cutting edge mobile application. Our team, the largest supplier of mobile police apps in the UK, serves half of the UK’s 45 police forces and is part of Motorola Solutions. You will work as part of an agile team, participating in sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews and retrospectives.

Job Description

Key responsibilities of Junior Software Developer:

• Write Java, XSLT and use in house tools to produce Android applications.
• Work through the full life cycle of a project, including requirements capture, design, implementation and testing.
• Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with customers during requirements gathering and occasional site visits.
• Progress into senior developer, business analyst or project management roles over time.

Requirements

• Minimum 2:1 in BSc Computing Science, BSc Software Engineering, MSc Software Engineering or a similar degree.
• 3 years UK residency required for security check.
• Some experience with Java and a strong general understanding of programming concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites.
