Operations Controller NPD & Ops Excellence
Finance Business Partner – Portfolio COGS & Ops Excellence Team – Location: Glasgow – Hybrid working approach – Permanent (Pernod Ricard).
About the role
The Finance Operational Analysis team provides dedicated financial support to the Manufacturing and Production functions. This role is part of that team, partnering with R&D and Marketing to ensure timely reporting of financial performance to senior management. You will manage key processes including the standard costing process, New Product Development (NPD) area and Ops Excellence tracking and reporting.
What you will do
- Reporting and Monitoring – support operational teams with financial analysis and insights for key activities such as NPD and operational improvement initiatives; identify and track cost saving opportunities and efficiency gains.
- Coordinate key financial processes – data collection and validation for monthly actuals; ensure deadlines are met.
- Partner with the Packaging Development Team to support budget management, structure and projects; assist the Business Partner in developing NPD business cases.
- Forecasting and Planning – lead the annual standard costing process for CBL, coordinate integration of IDL analysis for consolidation; manage COGS forecasting and reporting in line with HQ guidance; support planning cycles and enable the wider finance team.
- Operational and Business Support – prepare monthly analysis and reporting for NPD operational costs and PD spend; highlight variances; deliver accurate reporting to internal stakeholders and HQ; support central marketing spend management and reporting.
- Operational Initiatives – support consolidation and monthly reporting of Operational Excellence initiatives, including financial and non financial savings, aligned with Pernod Ricard Group targets.
Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent.
- Fully qualified or in later stages of a recognised accountancy qualification.
- Knowledge and experience in a wide range of accounting techniques and their application.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage own priorities and meet deadlines.
- Highly skilled in spreadsheet and database management.
- Strong relationship building skills to provide reliable customer service.
