Early Years Practitioner
Tynecastle Nursery School, Tynecastle Stadium
Salary: £30,188 – £34,452 (pro rata for sessional)
Hours: 36 hours per week, 39 weeks sessional
Tynecastle Nursery is housed within Tynecastle Stadium, a purpose-built nursery space. It opened in 1929 and continues to be highly regarded in the community. The nursery welcomes a diverse mix of families and serves 55 children aged 2 5 years. A dedicated and dynamic staff team supports children and families.
Responsibilities
- Work within the setting Monday to Friday, including early and late shifts on a rotating basis each month.
- Provide high-quality early years education in accordance with national curriculum standards.
- Plan and facilitate learning activities that promote child development and well being.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of child progress and attendance.
- Engage with parents and carers to support children’s learning and development.
Required Qualifications
- SVQ Social Services (Children and Young People) SCQF Level 7
- HNC Childhood Practice

Pre employment Checks
This role requires compliance with the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo an update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an overseas criminal record check will be required. All checks must be satisfactory before an unconditional offer and commencement of employment.

Salary and Working Conditions
Our salary range is £30,188 – £34,452, reflecting the initial starting salary and rising annually until the top of the range. We are open to flexible working arrangements.
