Job Description
Community Mental Health Nurse – Fixed Term / Secondment
This position is a fixed term secondment until 31 December 2026 with Dundee GAP CRHTT. The successful candidate will work as a Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) within a 24 hour, 7 day per week crisis assessment, home treatment and early supported discharge service.
Dundee CRHTT is undergoing redesign and transformation. The role requires participation in the ongoing delivery of the Tayside Wide Police Triage Service. As a lone worker in the community you will develop, deliver and evaluate specialist psychological and psychosocial interventions, support service users in their homes and communities, and supervise junior staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct crisis assessment and provide home treatment for individuals with mental health problems.
- Plan, implement and evaluate care for service users, accepting and delegating responsibility as required.
- Participate in the Tayside Wide Police Triage Service and other local initiatives.
- Provide supervision and support to junior members of the team.
- Work flexible hours as part of a shift rota, travel and cover for special circumstances in other localities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience working as a Band 5 RMN with a wide range of mental health problems.
- Registered on Sub part 1: RN3 of the UK NMC Register.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently as a lone worker and within a team.
- Willingness and ability to travel and adapt to changing duty schedules.
