About the Opportunity

We are seeking to appoint three Consultant Geriatricians (one in each of the three Sectors: Clyde, North and South) to join established Older People’s Services teams and support the delivery of high quality care for people living with frailty. These posts form part of a wider programme of investment to strengthen frailty care across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. While each role will be embedded within a local consultant team and contributing to existing service delivery, the posts also offer an important opportunity to support the ongoing development of a more coordinated, whole system approach to frailty care.

The Transformation You Will Support

Across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde we are progressing a programme to improve how care is delivered for people living with frailty, focusing on earlier specialist assessment, better use of multidisciplinary teams, and stronger integration across care settings. These Consultant posts will contribute to that ambition, while also meeting the needs of established services. This may include supporting existing ward and assessment unit activity, providing clinical leadership within local frailty and Older People’s services, and contributing to the development of interface, frailty hub and virtual care models where aligned to the post. The precise balance of responsibilities will vary by Sector and job plan, recognising local service needs and priorities.

Though the role offers full-time shift patterns, salary is pro rata for part-time hours.
