Senior Wells & Decommissioning HSE Advisor

Location: Aberdeen

Duration: 2 year contract

Contract Type: PAYE

Responsibilities

  • Provide HSE support and leadership to the Wells & Decommissioning team, including long term planning, regulatory compliance, and operational support for HSE aspects during well construction, intervention and decommissioning activities.
  • Monitor, review and improve ongoing HSE performance and the management system.
  • Provide technical input and support for wells and decommissioning risk assessments.
  • Manage external and regulatory stakeholders, including HSEx inspections during decommissioning operations.
  • Deliver HSE notifications for well plug and abandonment (P&A) activities.
  • Manage combined operations (COMOPS), bridging arrangements and emergency response during decommissioning and well P&A activities.
  • Manage HSE interfaces between platforms, rigs or heavy lift vessels, including written schemes and IVB.
  • Manage key HSE service providers and contractor HSE deliverables, along with relevant on site third party staff.
  • Serve as the focal point for decommissioning technical safety engineering, ensuring safety cases are delivered on schedule.
  • Provide HSE direction for decommissioning and wells, including QHSE plans.
  • Plan and implement Line of Defense audits and assurance activities, covering contractors and critical suppliers within decommissioning and wells.
  • Act as the focal point within OpCo for key HSE processes such as CDM management.
  • Lead incident reporting, investigations, analysis and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Excellent working knowledge of current offshore HSE legislation and practices specific to decommissioning, including decommissioning safety cases.
  • ISO Lead auditor or equivalent certification.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Degree qualified in a suitable technical subject or HSE related diploma (e.g., NEBOSH).
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Offshore medical and survival certificates (essential).
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.

Work Arrangement

The role operates under a non contractual hybrid arrangement: four days must be worked in the office, with Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as compulsory days. The fourth day may be Monday or Friday, chosen by the employee, provided it aligns with team efficiency.
