Applied Psychologist for Digital Mental Health (KTP Associate)
The role holder will use contemporary psychological theory and evidence to ensure that the online service user gateway is person-centred, aligns with appropriate therapeutic approaches and language, provides quick and accurate identification of service user risk, and aligns with appropriate legislative, professional and regulatory body guidelines. The Associate will work with SAMH colleagues, stakeholders, and service users to create a project steering group and with them co design and test the product and ensure service user needs are met.
The successful candidate will translate person centred psychological principles into operational requirements for AI development, ensuring safe, ethical, and evidence based system design in collaboration with computing colleagues. We are seeking candidates who can contribute to responsible and psychologically informed AI innovation through balanced, evidence based evaluation of opportunities, risks, ethics, and safeguarding considerations within digital mental health contexts.
The KTP Associate will be responsible for coordinating the day to day delivery of the project in collaboration with the Data/AI Engineer KTP Associate, SAMH and Glasgow Caledonian University. The successful candidate will join an exciting, ongoing project in which the Computing Associate is already in post. The postholder will engage with contemporary evidence to ensure that the online service user experience is psychologically informed and mirrors the in person equivalents to support seamless transitions for services users.
To embed capability in clinical oversight principles and procedures in digital mental health tools, AI tool development and improvement, and data analytics for SAMH, to develop a psychologically informed, artificial intelligence driven service user gateway to support SAMH’s place based and online mental health services.
