Housing Construction Project Manager

Hours: 36 per week
We are looking for an experienced Construction Project Manager to join Low Rise Area Based Regeneration (Mixed Tenure Improvement Service). This service delivers essential fabric repairs, maintenance and energy efficiency improvements to the common parts of mixed tenure tenement blocks across Edinburgh – buildings with a mix of Council owned and privately owned flats.
About the Role
You will lead the delivery of repair and improvement projects (e.g. roofing, external walls, insulation, communal areas) that benefit both Council tenants and private homeowners. Working as part of a multi disciplinary team with building surveyors, quantity surveyors, you will manage projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, to high quality standards, and with excellent stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end to end project delivery, including scoping, design briefs, contract administration, site supervision and risk management.
- Liaise with residents, private owners, contractors and consultants to coordinate works and maintain high levels of customer service.
- Oversee contractor performance, variations, health & safety (CDM), quality control and final accounts.
- Contribute to option appraisals, performance reporting and continuous improvement of MTIS processes in this expanding city wide programme.
- Support compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies.
Ideal Candidate
- Substantial experience in construction project management, ideally in housing repairs, refurbishment or mixed tenure/residential schemes.
- Relevant professional qualifications with strong knowledge of contract management and building regulations.
- Proven ability to manage multi disciplinary contractors, risk and stakeholder relationships in sometimes complex or sensitive environments.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills, with the ability to undertake regular site visits.
