Software Engineer (Security Data and AI)

Location: Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, or Bristol

Salary: £48,987 – £54,430

Hours: Full time – 35 hours per week

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, efficient, and well documented code while learning standard methodologies through code reviews and team discussions.
  • Work with senior engineers to understand project requirements, fix bugs, and build great software together.
  • Maintain and solve issues in applications, ensuring reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and boost security to keep software reliable.
  • Support live service operations, monitoring for bugs and ensuring smooth operation.
  • Engage in lab and platform activities, staying curious and adaptive.

Qualifications

  • Experience with primary programming languages such as Python and Bash scripting.
  • Experience designing Agentic AI solutions, preferably in the context of Cyber Security.
  • Familiarity with quality engineering and test automation.
  • Knowledge of ETL/ELT design principles and Data Lifecycle.
  • Collaboration skills, capable of persuading and coordinating varied teams.
  • Experience in designing secure systems following enterprise security and compliance guidelines.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non technical audiences.
  • Experience in DevOps engineering, ideally with GCP, but openness to other cloud platforms.
  • Knowledge of Kubeflow deployments or experience delivering AI centric platforms (e.g., Vertex AI).
  • Experience with GCP Cloud Composer, GKE, Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub, Terraform, CI/CD using Harness, GitHub, and Agile working.
